The Brotherhood of St. Andrew
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is a men’s ministry group with the mission to inspire, empower, and equip men to spread the Gospel message. Started in 1883 in Chicago, IL, it now has chapters around the world. A portion of each meeting is devoted to each of the disciplines of prayer, study of scripture, and service.
Bible Study
Tuesdays, 9:45 AM - 11:15 AM
Each Tuesday, a group meets in St. Claire’s Chapel for a weekly bible study on the upcoming Lectionary Scriptures. The group uses a Lectionary Bible Study Resource from the Episcopal Church Office of Communications entitled “Bible Studies that Work”. Everyone is invited!
Chair Yoga
1st, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays of every month at 10:00 am
Chair Yoga is a modified version of Yoga poses, stretches, and movements, paired with breath and focus, performed within the confines of a chair. The meaning of Yoga is yoking body, mind, and spirit. An article from John Hopkins University summarizes 9 benefits of yoga. These benefits include musculoskeletal improvements, heart health, reducing pain, reducing anxiety, and improving overall wellness.
The class runs 45 minutes and ends in a quiet period of about 2 minutes of silent rest. A signed standard exercise release of liability is required for participation. These will be provided and on the table.
Yoga food for thought: This excerpt is from Light on Life by B.K.S. Iyengar (a well-known author and Yogi) :
"Duality is the seed of conflict. But we all have access to a space, an inner space, where there is an end to duality, an end to conflict....Asana (movement) and pranayama (breath) are the apprenticeship to that transcendence of duality. Once duality has been reconciled...by the grace of God, the supreme gift of samadhi (union) may be granted."

No one in this world should be hungry. That's why the CROP Hunger Walk is more than just a yearly gathering. It's a movement that's 57 years strong, made up of compassionate people in more than 500 communities across the U.S.
The steps we take - and the funds we raise together - will provide life-saving support, including emergency food and resources, along with the seeds, tools and programs that will help families feed themselves in the future.
Recruit a team of family and friends to join a CROP Hunger Walk in your community. Every step and every donation ends hunger!
